Description

Marathon III is Southland Sod's most advanced dwarf tall fescue and represents the latest release in a fifteen-year progression of breeding development. Marathon III is more dense, darker green, finer leafed, and slower growing than previous generations. Marathon III can be mowed shorter, resulting in a more compact carpet-like appearance; its slower growth rate results in significantly lower clipping yield which, in turn, lowers disposal volume. Mowing frequency may also be reduced, particularly during cooler seasons. Marathon III contains Shortcut™ which is Southland's proprietary variety developed through a cooperative research program.
