Melinus nerviglumis ‘Pink Crystals’, formerly classified as the genus Rhynchelytrum, is a clumping grass with narrow soft blue-green leaves reaching 1 foot tall. The plant produces 2 foot tall showy spikes of deep pink flowers which fade to light pink in late summer. Hardy to about 20-25 degrees and is best grown in full sun with regular watering. Plant with other grasses, in rock gardens or in mixed beds. In the fall, colored flower heads are an added bonus.
