When a lawn is not practical or desired there are many plants that can be used as a groundcover for both flat areas and slopes. Some groundcovers will take as much foot traffic as a lawn while others are either too woody or too succulent to be stepped on. Plants that spread quickly by underground runners or by surface roots can be spaced further apart, making good slope stabilizers, while those small scale growers are perfect for use between stepping stones. Showy flowers on some groundcovers are an added benefit. Knowing the height and spread of a plant will ensure proper spacing and application.

Visit our Groundcover department and you’ll find that we have a groundcover to suit any garden situation.
