Small, tree-like shrub or small tree to about 6-8′ tall and 5-6′ wide. Compact, slow growing. Its fruit are composed of four skinny segments wrapped in a thin, leathery skin, about the thickness and length of your forefinger, and green aging to red brown when ripe. Split the skin and the tiny caviar-sized vesicles pop out. Sour and lime-like, comparable to pummelo or grapefruit. Rind has lime-like fragrance with a strong pine fragrance thrown in. Flowers mostly in spring and bears in late fall to early winter, but tends to have some fruit almost all year. Microcitrus australasica.
